Azerbaijan Customs Academy / Highly Commended Award for Best Public Service Architecture

In its quest to discover the best architects in Asia-Pacific Region, the International Property Awards invited architectural companies to present their finest works and iki design group won a Highly Commended Award for Best Public Service Architecture with Azerbaijan Customs Academy project locates in Qabala, Azerbaijan. The award ceremony took place on the 7th and 8th April in the Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. The Asia Pacific Property Awards are judged by an independent panel of 70 industry experts. Judging focuses on design, quality, service, innovation, originality, and commitment to sustainability. The Awards are in their 24th year now and this year’s judging panel is chaired by Lord Caithness, Lord Best, and Lord Liverpool, members of the House of Lords in the UK Parliament. The Asia Pacific Property Awards are known as the region’s largest, most prestigious, and widely recognised programme. The awarded project, Ajerbaijan Customs Academy, is conceived as one of the strategic investments in the development of high skill labour and cutting edge know how that will both undoubtedly crucial particularly in regulating the custom activities. The design seeks an architectural manifesto embodying the “knowledge of practice” and “knowledge of learning” with its two angular longitude blocks of the education complex. It reaches up to 43 000 sq.m, sets itself as the conception of continuity in architectural terms which is also the fundamental element of custom functions where the efficiency of the process is a hallmark.
