With the participation of Minister of Environment and Urbanisation, Fatma Güldemet Sarı, the ground-breaking ceremony for Piyalepaşa İstanbul Project held on 6th of May, today at 10:00 am. Mayor of Greater Municipality of Istanbul; Kadir Topbaş, Mayor of Beyoğlu Municipality Ahmet Misbah Demircan were also attendees of the ceremony.
During the speeches, Piyalepaşa İstanbul was emphasized as an urban regeneration project of Polat, which is the largest mixed-use regeneration program initiated by private sector in Turkey.
Senior Partner of iki design group, Sema Eser Özsaruhan attended to the ceremony and stated “this ground-breaking ceremony marks the moment where the process had begun years ago and we are honoured of witnessing a masterplan of iki design group comes to realisation”. The architectural design has a strong emphasis on historical and social assets of the site. Design team of Piyalepaşa İstanbul Deniz Üngüder and Hülya Kardeş had accompanied Mrs Özsaruhan. The project was also awarded at the best mixed-use architecture category in 2016.
